Natalie King 3 Star Forms (In Process)
These Polaroids document fragments of shaped canvas works in progress from my upcoming exhibition ‘What I Forgot is Better Than Whatever They Remember’ (Temiskaming Art Gallery, September 2025). Captured in studio between layers, they hold the quiet, tender states of becoming — celestial bursts, raw edges, and gestures not yet fully formed.
Natalie King (she/they) is a queer interdisciplinary Anishinaabe (Algonquin) artist, facilitator, and member of Timiskaming First Nation. Working across painting, installation, video, and curation their work embraces the intimacy of cultural and bodily continuance. Through vivid visual language and layered storytelling, King explores the intersections of land, memory, kinship, and queerness.
